Surrogate Mother Compensation

Finding the best surrogate mother for you and your loved ones is the foundation of a positive surrogacy journey. At The Surrogacy Experience, we strive to match you with a surrogate mother who meets all of your needs and expectations. This helps a relationship to develop that is based on mutual trust and respect. To facilitate the matching process, we require all of our intended parents and surrogate mothers to complete a detailed profile outlining their preferences, relationship expectations and their family and medical history.
After a match has been made, the next step is develop a formal surrogacy agreement with your surrogate mother. This agreement will outline your compensation and expense reimbursement agreement with your surrogate mother.  The compensation amount varies depending on the circumstances of the intended parents as well as their carrier.  The range of compensation for a first time carrier typically ranges from $18,000 to 23,000, with experienced carriers typically receiving higher compensation amounts.  The agreement will also outline what expenses you will be required to reimburse your surrogate for including any out-of-pocket medical expenses, maternity clothes and travel requirements.
The exact amounts and allowances will be determined when outlining the formal agreement with legal counsel. As always, TSE will help guide you through this process and make it a positive experience for all involved.

The Benefits of Finding a Surrogate Mother through an Agency

The surrogacy journey can often be a complex and emotional process. Researching qualified agencies to guide you through this process is important; a do-it-yourself approach can add unneeded risk and anxiety to an already complex process. Because every agency’s approach to this process is different, it is important to choose an agency that fits your personal requirements. Understanding the following will help the decision making process:

  • Surrogate mother pre-screening process
  • Service offering and agency fees
  • Management of insurance coverage
  • Escrow management
  • Legal and medical network partners
The Surrogacy Experience is a gestational surrogacy and egg donation agency. We strive to provide intended parents, surrogate mothers and egg donors the personalized support and guidance throughout this journey that they deserve. We help intended parents in finding a surrogate mother by matching them with a woman who is physically, emotionally and psychologically prepared to enter a surrogacy arrangement. We pre-screen our surrogate mothers before they are eligible to meet with intended parents, including a background check, drug screening, medical record review and an initial psychological evaluation.

Once you are matched with a surrogate mother, The Surrogacy Experience will continue to guide you through the legal and process by partnering with experts in these respective fields. We will also assist you in the creation of a birth plan, manage financial related items and help you navigate any insurance matters.

For more information about finding a surrogate mother please visit our agency website or call The Surrogacy Experience 1.866.264.7211.

Becoming a Surrogate Mother & the Intended Parent Relationship

Every surrogate – intended parent relationship is wholly unique.  Some surrogates and intended parents want to become close friends, while others prefer more of a business relationship with minimal contact during the process.  It is important to understand your expectations for your relationship with the intended parents before embarking on the surrogacy journey.

When considering becoming a surrogate mother you should outline what your relationship expectations are for before, during and after the birth. Before becoming a surrogate mother you should consider the following:
  • Is it important for you to meet the intended parents in person, or is a phone call sufficient enough for you?
  • When it comes to communication, are you comfortable working with the intended parents directly, or would you rather go through your selected agency?
  • How often do you want to communicate (daily, weekly, only after doctors’ appointments, etc.)?
  • What method of communication are you most comfortable with, video chats, phone calls, or email only?
  • How open are you to having the intended parents attend doctors’ appointments, ultrasounds etc.?
  • Who do you want to be present during the birth?
  • Do you want to remain in close contact with the intended parents and the child after the birth, or are you comfortable with receiving simple updates such as on birthdays and holidays?
At The Surrogacy Experience, we strive to match surrogate mothers with intended parents who share their expectations for the relationship.  For more information on becoming a surrogate mother for a family member please visit The Surrogacy Experience website or call 1.866.264.7211.

Egg Donation Choices

Choosing to take part in egg donation can be an extremely rewarding experience. Your donation will help intended parents achieve their dreams of having a child. Deciding to donate your eggs is an important decision that should be made with careful consideration. You should take the time to consider all the various aspects involved in this process.
At TSE, we recommend that any woman considering egg donation seek additional information or advice from a professional at our agency or from past egg donors. We want to make sure that you are fully aware of what this process entails as well as how it will affect your life before and after the egg donation process has been completed.
After careful consideration if you have decided to become an egg donor the next decision you need to make is whether or not you wish to remain an anonymous. Most donors choose to remain anonymous, and TSE completely respects this decision. For those women who would like to have an open, or known egg donation we will help facilitate a face-to-face meeting with the intended parents as long as all those involved agree to it. After the initial meeting, you and the intended parents can decide on your desired level of involvement throughout the process and after the child is born.
To aid us in this process of matching you with the appropriate intended parents, we ask that all egg donors complete a detailed candidate profile. This profile encompasses everything from your physical characteristics and interests to your personal and family medical history. Once accepted into our program we will use your candidate profile to match you with intended parents who share your expectations of this process.
For more information regarding the process and procedures regarding egg donation please visit The Surrogacy Experience website or call 1.866.264.7211.

Becoming a Surrogate Mother for Your Friend

For women, becoming a surrogate mother for a friend or family member is one of the most special and rewarding gifts you could give. You will be able to give them the gift of a beautiful child that will bring them a lifetime of happiness. Before beginning the process of becoming a surrogate mother there are things that women must know in order for the process to go smoothly and successfully.

One of the first things a woman should understand is that becoming a surrogate mother is can be a very strenuous process for you both physically and mentally. Are you ready for the physical commitment? You will have to go to a number of doctor appointments to have the embryo transfers (how many attempts are you willing to make?) as well as for check-ups throughout the pregnancy. You will have to take special care of your body watching what you eat, taking vitamins and refraining from drinking, smoking, or taking other harmful drugs. Are you willing and ready to make these commitments?

A woman will also have to consider the emotional strain becoming a surrogate mother may have on her. Are you in a secure point in your life where you can be pregnant and then give the baby to your friend or family member? Sometimes when the surrogacy experience is shared between trusted friends or family members it makes the process easier and more enjoyable for all involved. For more information about how to become a surrogate mother or other aspects of surrogacy, please contact The Surrogacy Experience today.
